Single Mom's Back-To-School
BACKPACK BLOWOUT
Augsut 9, 2008 in Lee's Summit, Missouri offered a pleasant summer day with a few sprinkles of rain followed by a pleasant day of temperatures in the upper 70s. When you consider the previous week was near the 100s, it was a beary pleasant day.
The teddy bears were not left not out of the fun. Set up on display, 20 bears watched as mom and children picked through a large selection of backpacks and miscellaneous school supplies. Occassionally a bear would attract the attention of a school bound youngster. The bear would be hugged and taken off the shelf, tagging along in the school supply selection. Then the bear would go home with its new friend.
It's scary sometimes to leave home and head to school where there are so many people, and you have to find your teacher and classroom. You have to sit still and listen and learn new things. A teddy bear hug before you head out to school and when you return can be a welcome joy.
