Your name is written on the palm of God’s hand.      Isaiah 45:16

Whenever we go to a flea market or garage sale my husband and I play a game where we name who made the teddy bear; is it a Boyd’s bear, a Cherished Teddy or Merry Thought?

Manufactured bears each have a look that matches the creator and the name is imprinted on the attached tag.

My maker didn’t put a tag on me with his name; he instead engraved my name on his hand. When the disciples gathered after hearing news that the tomb was empty, a tomb they personally saw Jesus’ body laid into, Thomas was skeptical. He was there when Jesus was arrested; he witnessed the trial and crucifixion. He saw Jesus’ body taken down from the cross and placed in the tomb. He cried when the stone was rolled in front of the tomb so he was confident there was no way that Jesus was walking among the people of Jerusalem.

Thomas and the other disciples were gathered together in a room with a locked door, and suddenly Jesus appeared before them. He told Thomas to touch his hands, his side, his feet. He wanted Thomas to know for certain this was the same man, flesh and bone and alive, that he watched die and buried.  Those scars are there because Jesus took the sins of the world to the cross as a sacrifice and atonement to God.  My name is engraved in each scar, as is yours.  I am His and just like the bears with the label attached showing who the maker is my maker has my name engraved showing who is his.

My life is to be a reflection of my maker. When Christ returns we will all see those scars Though no tag is attached I pray you can see the mark He has made on my life.

An ENCOURAGING Idea:      Go to the home of an elderly person or a single parent and rake those falling leaves from the yard as an act of kindness.

The Lord’s servant must be….kind to everyone……….         2Tim 2:24
