10 Things I Learned About God From My Teddy Bear
Be Content (Phil 4:11) I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
Be Patient (Eph 4:2) with patience, show tolerance for one another in love
Listen (Job 33:33) Listen to me, keep silent
Be encouraging (1 Thes 5:11) Encourage each other and build each other up
Hug a lot (James 4:8) Draw close to God and God will draw close to you
Don’t gossip (Proverbs 16:28) Gossip separates the best of friends
Love unconditionally (Proverbs 17:17) A friend loves at all times
Don’t worry (Matt 6:34) Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself
Mind your own business (1 Thes 4:11) Aspire to live quietly, to mind your own affairs
Make others smile (Psalm 42:5) Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God and soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face.

I recently heard from someone who had received a basket with Bearnabus Bear and Journal. Recently diagnosed with cancer and is preparing to begin treatment. Her mother took the journal to the church and asked family and friends to each write on one page some things that they found encouraging. Each story would be personal. Like a “daily inspirations” book, she can now read stories and encouragement and hope from those close to her.
He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Cor 1:4

I heard a testimony today in which the guy described himself after becoming a christian as a “Secret Agent Christian”. His family and friends didn’t understand the changes in him and he hadn’t yet found a good support group of christian friends, so he honored God and tried to live as a christian secretly.
With the recent inaugeration of President Bush there was a lot of focus on “Secret Service Men” and how see some of them but many agents were around but “unnoticed”. There were many armed services represented. You could easily tell what branch of the service someone represented by their clothing.
How is your christian life? Are you a “secret agent christian”? Or can others look at you and say, “I know who he serves” ?
Just pawsing to think about it.
I tried it last year, didn’t get very far. My teddy bears and I are trying it again. I started on a reading plan to read the Bible thru in one year. You can find the NAVPRESS reading plan on the Bear Witness website. It has a 25 reading plan so if you find a day or two you don’t read, you don’t get behind. Today is day 5 and I am on course so far. God help me to stay committed.
I wouldn’t be able to go several days without speaking to my husband or children or even my teddy bears. God doesn’t want days to pass without speaking to me. And I have to listen as well. Open the eyes of my heart.
