A “Bear Affair” to Remember

Posted by: BearyAnn   in TeddyBear Thoughts

I wasn’t able to attend all the teddy bear events this weekend in Independence Missouri but I did enjoy the artists I met at the Bingham Waggaoner Estate on Saturday. I visited with Carol Modean who told me about other shows and how much fun they were to go to and how you meet so many wonBEARful people. I look forward to seeing her in July. Jean Ann and Mark Sovereign had a huge display of BOYDS Bears where I saw several that I have in my own collection and many more I want in my collection. I hugged Bentley Bear and got a picture of Bentley with his friend/creator Nancy. I wasn’t able to meet William Boyd of Teddy Bear Review Magazine as he wasn’t feeling well and had left but I did get to pick up a free “Teddy Bear Review” magazine. I picked up a coupon for a free HUG at the Good Bears of the World display and also details of the 2005 Teddy Bear Jubilee in July. I can’t wait to go there.

All in all it was a Beary Bearific Day. I have one question for you now? Have you hugged your teddy bear today?

I am excited that next Saturday, when our church ministry for single mom’s called STEP UP offers its car care clinic and free oil changes to Single Mom’s in the area (reservations required) I will be on the sidelines offering my first “Teddy Bear Clinic”.

When we become christians we are “New Creatures In Christ”. This is a great starting point for a lesson of God’s love and as we clean and fix up our teddy bears we make them into new creatures.

I can’t do as thorough a cleaning as I do with my own bears at home but we will be using Build A Bear cleaner. I hope to have some dress up clothes for them too.

I have so enjoyed working on the development of Bear Witness and I know this event will definitely be a lot of fun. I got a lab coat for Bearnabas Bear to wear and now I have one for me. I hope to post some pictures of the event. I will keep you posted.

If you have any pointers on hosting a teddy bear clinic, I ‘d love to hear from you. If you have an event and would like Bear Witness to set up a Teddy Bear Clinic for you, please contact me.

Independence, Missouri is the place to be this weekend with non-stop bear related activities. Just a few of the Teddy Bear Review ; bear making demonstration and Teddy Bear lunch at the Bingham-Waggoner Estate; a Teddy Bear Tea Party complete with dress up hats, tiara and boas at Girlfriends Let’s Do Lunch; and an auction of 10 themed 6-foot decorated bears at the Truman Memorial Building. This is just the beginning. There is so much more to do!

For more information you can contact Independence Tourism at 1-800-748-7323. You’ll be able to recognize me easily. I will be the one hugging every teddy bear in site !! (I am sure no one else does that, hehe)

Have a Beary Good Day !!

Teddy Bear Theology

Posted by: BearyAnn   in TeddyBear Thoughts

I have always believed that the Teddy Bear is a symbol representing God’s everlasting love. and peace. When I started “Bear Witness” I wanted to use teddy bears to bring comfort and offer love to someone with a troubled heart. I was surfing the internet and found a very intersting article written by Mark Eidemiller titled “Teddy Bear Theology”. In it he uses the teddy bear to demonstrate God’s compassion, mercy and compassion as well as redemption and salvation. It’s a beary interesting read. I pawsonally recommend it.

The Message is the Same

Posted by: BearyAnn   in Paws to Think About It

Do you remember, many years ago, the 7UP commercial that used the slogan: Caffeine, never had it, never will ?

I was surprised to find a new drink on the market called: 7UpSide Down. 7UP with Caffeine. Times change and so do people. So does 7UP !!!

One thing has never changed and never will. God loves us, always has always will. God wants us to follow Him and to live with Him in heaven through eternity; always has, always will. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins and raised Him from the grave on the 3rd day so that we may have this eternal life with Him.

All through the Bible God makes promises to us. God keeps His promises. People have let you down, products have let you down, money has let you down. If you know me, I have even let you down at some point.

Turn to God. He will never let you down. He can give you peace
