It is very hard to know what to say to someone is pain. You want to help alleviate some of their pain by your presence and words. No matter how flattering, how profound, how absolutely prophetic you feel the words will be, think about this: will these words give grace and do they meet the need of the moment?
Send a “thinking of you” card to someone God has brought to your mind. Use snail mail!! Add a note about a memroy you shared. Enclose a picture to bring a smile to their face.
