Forget what is behind and straing toward what is ahead, press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called (you) heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
(I must remind myself of this often)
GOD, grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference.
Living ONE DAY AT A TIME;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the
pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this
sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make
all things right if I
surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy
in this life, and supremely
happy with Him forever in
the next. Amen
I found this printed off some time ago. It gives the name of the Charlene Dickensen credited with writing it in 1997y though I don’t know where I got it from. Fill a plastic egg with jelly beans and attach the following poem to the egg. It’s a great way to share the fun of jelly beans with the love of Christ.
Red is for the blood He gave.
Green is for the grass He made.
Yellow is for the sun so bright.
Orange is for the edge of night.
Black is for the sins we made.
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for His hour of sorrow.
Pink is for our new tomorrow.

Is a prayer, a promise, A loved one’s treat!!
The next time someone asks you to pray for them, don’t just say “yes”; instead draw them close and start praying right then and there.
My dogs, Goodness and Mercy, are of border collie and sheltie mix. They love to run in the backyard where they can see neighbors pass by and hear the sounds of traffic beyond the fence. Sirens from emergency vehicles sound nd they accept it as usual traffic noise, except for one particular siren. I haven’t yet figured out which siren it is, but these two will stop whatever they are doing and with faces lifted high they howl in a pitch, atttempting to match the siren.
Watching them today reminded me of my own life. I am bombarded daily by many sounds from all around; traffic, co-workers, phone, tv, radio, family. There is another sound too, not audible to the ear but to the heart. That sound is the voice of God. When I hear it I, like my dogs to the siren, raise my head and respond to Him with my silent howl through prayer.
God can hear my cry just like a mother in a crowded room can distringuish the cry of her own child.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” John 10:27
Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Romans 12:16 NKJV
