There appears to be a pattern here. In each scene Christ tells the disciples to “pray so that you will not fall into temptation”.

I started wondering about how I am tempted. Temptation occurs when my focus is not on Christ.  So how do I keep my focus on Christ? Pray, pray, pray.

Deny ungodliness and worldly desires. Live sensibly, righteous and godly. Titus 2:12

Accept one another, just as Christ also accepted you to the glory of God. Romans 15:7

Don’t let those who trust in you stumble because of me, O Lord. Don’t let me cause them to be humiliated.

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.

So if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
