The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Rom 13:12 NIV

Be dressed, ready for service and keep your lamps burning like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.
Luke 12:35-36
A Wife of Noble Character
*Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
She is more precious than rubies.
Her husband can trust her,
and she will greatly enrich his life.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
She finds wool and flax
and busily spins it.
She is like a merchant’s ship,
bringing her food from afar.
She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household
and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.
She goes to inspect a field and buys it;
with her earnings she plants a vineyard.
She is energetic and strong,
a hard worker.
She makes sure her dealings are profitable;
her lamp burns late into the night.
Her hands are busy spinning thread,
her fingers twisting fiber.
She extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy.
She has no fear of winter for her household,
for everyone has warm* clothes.
She makes her own bedspreads.
She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.
Her husband is well known at the city gates,
where he sits with the other civic leaders.
She makes belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchants.
She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness.
Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her:
“There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
but you surpass them all!”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the LORD will be greatly praised.
Reward her for all she has done.
Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
Prov 31:10-31
I have never stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. Eph 1:16-17
Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge. Proverbs 23:12

I’ve used this in the past. Fix up a basket with one of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books. Add a soup bowl and a package or can of chicken noodle soup. Finish the package off with raffia and a teddy bear. Add a candle or other small items as filler. Give the basket to someone not feeling well or just needing a pick me up.
Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do. Prov 4:23 NLT
An Encouraging Idea
Here’s a craft idea you can make to make to understand how much God thinks of you.
Fill a small jar, salt shaker, or similar item with sand. Add decorative ribbon at the top and tighten the lid.
Using a computer, typewriter, or even handwriting print the following verse and attach to the jar:
How precious are your thoughts of me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.
Psalm 139:17,18
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God, how great is the sum of them! If I should count them they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. Psalm 139:17,18

As you walk down the parking lot toward the entrance to your favorite WalMart (or any store) watch for elderly people or for parents who are putting a young child in the car. Why not take their cart as you walk past? You need one anyway and you will be helping them. The mother of the young child will appreciate that she will not have to leave her child in the car while she locates the cart corral.
