That last week of school as a high school was filled with excitement and anticipation wondering what would become of each of us as we traveled past these walls and into the world of work, higher education, marriage, children, etc. Yearbooks were signed "friends forever" and "I will always be there for you".
That was 30 years ago. The last time I saw a "friend forever" was 5 years ago on a church stage while I sat in the pews. I get occasional "email forwards" from 2 or 3 others but no personal contact.
I still have one friend from 30 years ago though. Jesus Christ. He is with me all the time and will be with me even after death. He loves me so much He died on a cross, suffering humiliation and agonizing pain so that I may be with him forever. With Christ forever doesn’t end at death, that’s just a new beginning.

It happened again. Hard drive crashed, lost all data, some files I thought were backed up, weren’t. All these years I’ve been in IT (information technology) you’d think I know better.My data was wiped clean. I am starting all over.
There is one cleaning I am excited about though. The cleaning of my sin that was accomplished by the birth, death and resurrection of my Lord Jesus Christ. My name is entered in the book of life and my sins are gone, erased, never to be uncovered.
I may be behind in this month’s newsletter, I may struggle to bring back my data but my sins are washed away. Thank you Jesus.
