I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left – feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught. John 14:27 The Message
Have you watched someone going through difficult times and wondered what it was that got them through it? You marvel at their ability to cope when circumstances were overwhelming.
As christians we are never promised life to be without troubles, in fact we are promised there will be tribulations (see John 16:33). We do not have to face these difficulties alone, we haved a comforter, the Holy Spirit, to give us peace while we face the enemy.
I remember when a dear friend became very ill from cancer. When asked howshe had the courage to face it she commented “I don’t ask ‘why me’, I say ‘why not me’ and forge ahead praying God’s name will be glorified in my fight”. She may have lost the battle to cancer, but she won the war; she walks along streets of gold in Heaven with our Heavenly Father.
I pray you may experience the peace that passes all understanding. May you feel the presence of God as you walk the difficult path.
