You knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Psalm 139:13

Have you read the story of the creation of the earth and of man?  Read Genesis 1 and Genesis 2:7.  God SPOKE the world into existence. He SPOKE and created the heavens, the earth, the skies, the water but he CREATED man.  He reached down and formed man and blew the breath of life into his nostrils.

I have knitting needles and yarn to make a scarf. I cannot speak to these things and say “become a scarf” and find a scarf created before my eyes. I must use my hands and work the thread to make the project. God “spoke” the heavens and earth into existence but man he formed with His hands and he breathed His breath into man. He personally created man.

Now read Psalm 139:13-18.  People “have” babies but God “knits” them together. A pregnant mom does not concentrate today on making a kidney, tomorrow on the liver, next week on the stomach. The baby grows while God does the knitting.

The next time your mind wanders while you continue that repetitive garter or stockinette stitch think about how you were specially knit together and you are a precious gift. God doesn’t make junk.
