Where Can I Go??

Posted by: BearyAnn   in Paws to Think About It

When I was a young child I used to take my teddy bear and hide under the bed. No one could find me there, I was all alone, so I thought.

There is a television commercial running now that states “Las Vegas, what happens there, stays there”. Don’t we all want a place we can go and know that no one will ever know what we did there? Las Vegas is not the place. Neither is under your bed or across the ocean or deep in a cave.

There is no place you can go that God is not there with you. David writes in Psalm 139:7-16, Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.

I had the opportunity to go to Las Vegas last month and I can tell you that I certainly felt alone because I didn’t know anyone, even though there were many people around me. But while I was playing with my camera taking still pictures and video of events going on around me, and while I was preparing for podcasts and blogs of the trip, I realized that no one around was really “hidden” as they may end up on one of my pictures or that of the hundreds of other people shooting pictures. I will be posting my pictures on the internet for family and friends to view as will many others. It is beary possible someone’s picture will be unintentionally available. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful gondola ride through the Venetian while we were in Las Vegas. People from all over were watching and flashing pictures. No telling whose vacation film we ended up on.

You can always know that God sees you. No matter if you are doing right or doing wrong, He is there right beside you…… even in Las Vegas

Isn’t it amazing that while we are encouraged that there is no place where God is not with us, others are searching desperately for a place where God does not visit and the responsibilities toward Him are null and void?

I call it “Spring Break Mentality.”
